About him
I'm flexible and easy-going, with a positive, and where appropriate, light-hearted approach to life. I always aim to treat everyone with kindness, honesty, and respect. Being able to laugh and enjoy life is important too, mindful that the years can pass by quickly.
With a considerate son and daughter, both in settled relationships, my 10 year old Labrador by my side, and living close to pleasant countryside, I've much to be grateful for. I was blessed to have been in a loving relationship for over 3 decades. Now and for the last couple of years, going solo has not prevented me from travelling and exploring new places.
I'm at my most relaxed walking and chatting by the coast or in the countryside. Occasionally, I cycle with a couple of friends. Not racing around country lanes covered in Lycra, although that's fine, but for us it's more about being out, enjoying the landscape and socialising, with a refreshment stop included on the route.
A Motown or Northern soul tune will still get me up on the dancefloor. I like most types of music. Happily doing ironing with a good playlist on in the background.
I retired after 42 years in engineering and design. Now, I have more time, wisdom, and plenty of energy. I intend to make the most of the remaining chapters of my life. Having someone write their name onto those pages would make it so much more rewarding. This is new territory for me, and like many of us on here, perhaps not what I envisaged. Bringing laughter and empathy, I have much to offer a new friend or companion. I've stories to tell, but I'm also a good listener and would love to hear yours.
