Creating the perfect profile - tips from Country Living experts

Writing your profile:

If this is your first time using a dating site, take a look at what some of the most popular people on Country Loving have written about themselves.  Then, take some time to think about what you enjoy most in life.  What are the things that really bring you happiness and inspire you? Including some examples of these in your profile will give people an insight into what makes you tick and showcase the interests you might share. So if your passion is travel then list some of your favourite destinations. If it's baking or cooking, then what's your signature dish? When it comes to writing about your ideal partner, our experience shows it's best to write about the kind of person you would like to meet, rather than the ones you wouldn't. As a rule of thumb, think of your profile as an opening conversational gambit, keep the tone light, keep your language positive, and keep the content interesting.

Tick all the boxes:

We make no apology for the fact that we ask you to answer quite a few questions as you fill out your profile. Although you can choose to answer "Ask me Later" to many of the them, the accuracy of your matches will be greatly improved if you answer as many of them (and with as much detail) as possible.

Picture Perfect:

First impressions count, so if you only have an old or slightly blurry photo to hand, wait until you've got a new one taken, before adding it to your profile. It may sound obvious, but a shot of you smiling (and looking happy and positive) will help people warm to you. A good head and shoulders shot is ideal as a main image, however, you can include up to 10 photos in total, so there's plenty of opportunity to include full length pics of you, favourite pets, places etc. The more photos you add to your profile the better. They really will help bring you and your profile to life.

Getting your profile noticed:

Whilst creating a good profile is the first and most important step to getting going on the site, it's important too that your fabulous and carefully crafted profile gets noticed by the members you like! In the real world, you could rely on a friend to introduce you, but on Country Loving the best way to get noticed is to add the people you like the look of to your Favourites. You can do this by clicking on the "Add to Favourites" links you'll find on every profile. This will alert the other member to your profile and if they subsequently appear in your Fans list, then you know the interest is mutual.
